Temple Y, acrylic on canvas – 36X24X1.5 inches
The primal mother of the Hindu pantheon, Aditi is like Atum, Barbelo, Lucifer/Sophia, and Iris rolled into one.
Without a consort, the original goddess had little choice but to take matters into her own hands. Seated atop her perch, the perennial creator plays an active role in the lives of her children. Unfettered by her lofty status, she is like a writer/director who can’t resist casting herself in her own movie. Descending into the storyline, she often delights in translating the prayers of mortals so they can be well received by the gods.
